Experience

Vigneesh is a Partner at Tanglin Law whose practice focuses on complex commercial disputes, arbitration, regulatory investigations, white collar crime, and employment matters. With close to a decade of experience, he regularly advises and represents corporations, financial institutions, business owners, and senior executives in high-stakes contentious and advisory matters.

He has substantial experience in shareholder and corporate governance disputes, fraud and asset tracing claims, asset recovery, regulatory investigations, employment issues, and criminal proceedings. In addition to his disputes practice, he advises clients on the full spectrum of contentious and advisory employment matters, including workplace investigations, executive terminations, restructurings, redundancies, and regulatory risk management.

Vigneesh has acted in numerous significant matters before the Singapore courts and arbitral tribunals, including reported decisions of the High Court and Court of Appeal. His experience includes obtaining urgent injunctive relief in fraud cases, enforcing and defending arbitral awards, leading complex investigations, and advising on sensitive regulatory and white-collar matters. Clients appreciate his strategic, commercially focused approach and his ability to provide clear and practical advice that is aligned with their commercial objectives while navigating complex disputes and regulatory challenges.

Vigneesh previously served as a Criminal Legal Aid Scheme Fellow with Law Society Pro Bono Services and remains committed to access to justice through pro bono advocacy.

Representative Matters

Vigneesh has acted for and advised corporations, financial institutions, business owners, directors, shareholders and senior executives in a broad range of significant disputes, investigations and regulatory matters, including:
  • Acting for an enrichment franchise in a dispute involving fraudulent misrepresentation, breaches of confidentiality and restrictive covenants. Successfully obtained a favourable award in a Singapore International Arbitration Centre arbitration and resisted subsequent challenges to enforcement before the General Division of the High Court and the Court of Appeal (DEM v DEL [2024] SGHC 80; DEM v DEL [2025] SGCA 1).
  • Acting for the claimant in Tay Shing Lee Eileen v Liang Ting Pang Jeffrey [2024] SGHC 261, obtaining judgment for the immediate repayment of S$362,000 under a settlement agreement and successfully defeating claims of non est factum and set-off, with costs awarded on an indemnity basis.
  • Acting for the Singapore subsidiary of a Japanese listed company in proceedings arising from employee fraud and embezzlement, including obtaining a Mareva injunction, summary judgment, and successfully pursuing enforcement through garnishee and bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Representing a private security agency in an appeal to the Minister for Home Affairs following the revocation of its operating licence, successfully securing the reinstatement of the licence and preserving the client's ability to continue its business operations.
  • Advising and representing clients in corporate governance disputes, shareholder conflicts, fraud investigations and asset recovery matters, including allegations of forged corporate documents, regulatory breaches and the recovery of substantial shareholder loans.
  • Advising employers on the full spectrum of contentious and advisory employment matters, including workplace investigations, employee misconduct, fraud, executive terminations, restructurings, redundancies and restrictive covenant disputes.
  • Acting for accused persons, professionals and corporate executives in significant white collar and criminal matters involving allegations of fraud, forgery, cheating, corruption and other regulatory offences, including reported decisions of the Singapore courts.

Vigneesh co-authored “Proper Notice and the Impact of Non-Participation in Arbitration Proceedings: DEM v DEL [2025] 1 SLR 29” published in Singapore Academy of Law Practice, demonstrating his expertise in arbitration law and procedure.
