Joshua brings extensive litigation and regulatory experience to Tanglin Law, where he heads the firm’s dispute resolution and regulatory practices, serving as a trusted advisor to businesses and high-net-worth individuals on complex commercial litigation and regulatory compliance matters.

He began his legal career at one of Singapore’s largest law firms before pursuing a unique and diverse professional path that included serving as a foreign service officer at Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President of a trade association, and CEO of a security firm that he successfully grew into a regional corporation. This distinctive background provides him with unparalleled insight into both commercial realities and regulatory frameworks, enabling him to deliver holistic solutions that account for business considerations alongside legal imperatives.

Joshua’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, arbitration, and regulatory advisory across various sectors. His work encompasses disputes involving multinational corporations, companies listed on Singapore and foreign exchanges, charitable organizations, and high-net-worth individuals. He also represents clients in criminal matters, including white collar crime defense. Joshua is known for his strategic approach to dispute resolution and his ability to navigate Singapore’s complex regulatory landscape while delivering practical, business-focused solutions.

Joshua has successfully argued cases at all levels of Singapore’s court system, including victories at the Court of Appeal, demonstrating his advocacy skills and deep understanding of Singapore law. Joshua previously authored "Islamic Banking and Finance - Regulatory Regimes in Malaysia and Singapore" in the Singapore Law Review in 2021. More recently, Joshua co-authored "Proper Notice and the Impact of Non-Participation in Arbitration Proceedings - DEM v DEL [2025] 1 SLR 29 - A case comment".
