Experience

Silke previously spent multiple years practising in the Corporate Department of one of the largest law firms in Singapore, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructuring, and general corporate advisory work. She had extensive exposure to large transactions involving Singapore multinational companies like DBS Bank (Asia’s largest consumer bank) and SingTel (Asia’s leading communications company) and private equity houses like HSBC Private Equity and Affinity Equity Partners.

Representative Matters

Transactions of significance that may be disclosed include:
  • Advised Affinity Equity Partners and TPG capital in their acquisition of a majority interest in United Test and Assembly Centre Ltd, a public company listed on the Main Board of the Singapore Stock Exchange.
  • Advised HSBC Private Equity in its acquisition of a majority interest in Nera Electronics Ltd, a public company listed on the Main Board of the Singapore Stock Exchange.
  • Advised Khazanah National Berhad, the investment holding arm of the Government of Malaysia, in its acquisition of a majority interest in PT Bank Lippo TBK, a leading bank in Indonesia.

Notable Appointments

Silk has also previously worked as in-house counsel in StarHub Ltd, assisting various business units on contractual and transactional matters arising from their day-to-day operations. She was also significantly involved in StarHub’s bidding process for the OpCo Project, initiated by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, to develop Singapore’s Next Generation National Broadband Network, which was awarded to StarHub. She was then seconded to Nucleus Connect Pte Ltd, a company established by StarHub to become the OpCo, where she provided legal support to Nucleus Connect and handle its corporate secretariat requirements during the initial months after incorporation.
